Top 5 Met Gala Looks Over History

Met Gala 2022 was held on Monday May 2, 2022. The Met Gala, or Met Ball, is renowned across the world as “Fashion’s Biggest Night” and “Celebrities’ Biggest Night.” It is technically known as the Costume Institute Gala or the Costume Institute Benefit. It’s a chance for designers to show off their creations and put their own touch on the topic by enlisting celebrities as models. It gives many people the chance to acquire public exposure and become the next top designer. It is held annually on the first Monday of May, with the exception of 2021, being held in September.

Multiple designers have failed at achieving their goal, and the public eye has coined such looks to be the worst in met gala history. However, many have succeeded and coined the phrase “one of the best Met Gala looks yet!”.

Let’s take a look at the top 5 best looks over history!

This year’s theme was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” The satin dress with structure paired with the black-gloved and black peek-a-boo top completes the elegant x modern look. The red hair and black hair accessories further tie the look together.

This year’s theme was “China; Through the Looking Glass.” The clear net dress with gems pairs beautifully with her silhouette and definitely matches the ‘through the looking glass’ theme. The dress was paired beautifully with simple jewelry and nude heels to draw attention to the dress.

This year’s theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” This iconic pic dress transformed into three other looks, all tied together with the pink and black colours. Her first look was the most eye-opening out of the three. This stunning ballgown is paired with a big pink bow. The black underskirt and umbrella tie the look together. Her huge black eyelashes further complete this iconic fashion look. Very on theme!

This stunning clear dress with gems is similar to Beyonce’s look. Except this one showcases more gems and glam. The choker matches perfectly with the dress, and the sleeves tie the look together. It truly looks like gems were stuck on her body!

This dress is not only stunning and extravagant to look at, but also covered in 44 carats of red rubies. The train of the dress and the matching gemmed hoof and feathered neckline tie the extravagant look together. Such an iconic fashion look, sticking true to that year’s theme.
